CTL Queer Family-Friendly Picnic is a relaxed outdoor gathering organised by CTL in Green Point Urban Park. The event is free to attend and open to anyone who would like to connect with others in a welcoming community setting. Attendees are encouraged to bring a blanket, something to drink, and food that can be shared with others. You are welcome to attend on your own, even if you do not know anyone yet. If you arrive and would like help meeting people, you can introduce yourself to Lara or one of the volunteers, who will help connect you with others. Families are welcome, and children are encouraged to attend. The organisers use the term “Lesbian” as an inclusive umbrella label intended to help people find community rather than limit participation. The group welcomes sapphics, women who love women (including bisexual and pansexual women), as well as trans and gender non-binary people. Meeting point Find the group near the South Gate entrance, the entrance closest to Virgin Active Green Point. Look for the rainbow flag. What to bring • A blanket to sit on • Something to drink (alcohol is not allowed in the park) • Something to eat, preferably something that can be shared • Something warm to wear in case the weather changes Please note that glass items are not allowed in the park, including bottles, glasses or glass food containers.
