Khumbulani LGBTQIA Pride returns on Saturday, 23 May 2026 in Site C, Khayelitsha, bringing together community members, allies, activists, and organisations for a day centred around visibility, inclusion, and Pride. This year’s Pride march will begin at Engen Tembani Convenience Centre and proceed along Maphongwana Avenue, Solomon Tshuku Avenue, and Njongo Avenue, ending at Blue Community Hall. The day will continue with a vigil, community discussions, and a shared meal. Khumbulani Pride is a grassroots movement rooted in remembrance, resistance, and justice for Black queer communities in South Africa’s townships. “Khumbulani” means remember in isiXhosa — a call to honour those lost, to stand with survivors, and demand accountability.
