The Unofficial Pink Party is a long-running LGBTQI+ community party in Cape Town where everyone is welcome — including allies and friends of the community. The event began when two Cape Town locals, Janine and Kelly, recognised the need for a safer and more inclusive nightlife space where LGBTQI+ people could connect, celebrate, and express themselves freely. Since launching in 2000, The Unofficial Pink Party has built a loyal following and become a recognisable part of the city’s queer nightlife. Over the years the organisers have hosted more than 70 parties, collaborated with multiple venues, and featured dozens of DJs and performers. The event has even been recommended on Lonely Planet’s Top Choices list for Cape Town nightlife. 2026 marks the final year of The Unofficial Pink Party. The organisers will host four final events throughout the year as a celebration of the community that supported the party over the years. The first of the final series takes place on Saturday 25 April at Botanik Social House, featuring DJs J9, Tactix and McNasty. Expect energetic dance music, welcoming vibes, and a diverse crowd from across Cape Town’s LGBTQ+ community.
This event is located in Cape Town and is part of the city's LGBTQ+ community landscape.
