Gender DynamiX is a South Africa–based public benefit organisation that focuses exclusively on advancing the rights, wellbeing, and inclusion of trans and gender diverse communities. Established as the first Africa-based organisation dedicated solely to trans communities, GDX plays a leading role in advocacy, research, and movement-building across South Africa and the broader Southern African region. The organisation works at both community and policy level to improve access to affirming healthcare, support legal gender recognition, promote inclusive education, and address systemic discrimination. Through evidence-based research, human rights reporting, and national and international advocacy, GDX contributes to legal reform, public awareness, and accountability around gender diversity and human rights. Alongside advocacy, Gender DynamiX strengthens the sustainability of trans-led organising through leadership development and capacity enhancement programmes. By supporting organisations at different stages of growth, facilitating partnerships, and improving access to services and referral networks, GDX helps build safer, more resilient environments in which trans and gender diverse people can live openly, access support, and exercise their rights.
