Manila von Teez is a Cape Town drag performer, designer and entertainer whose career spans pageantry, national television and international performance. Raised in Elsies River, Manila developed the persona in the early 2010s and went on to win titles including Miss Black Pride, Miss Cape Town Pride, Miss Cape Peninsula and Miss Loerie. In 2016 she finished runner-up on SA’s Got Talent. Manila’s work also includes the fashion label Haus of Vjorn, performances in India and appearances in Beaulah: Queens van die Kaap and Artscape’s ABFAB Drag.
