# Event Submission Guidelines *Last updated: July 2026* At Infogaytion, our goal is to showcase events that celebrate, support and strengthen the LGBTQ+ community. Every event submitted to the platform is reviewed before publication. Approval is not automatic. While we welcome submissions from organisers across many parts of our community, publication on Infogaytion remains an editorial decision. These guidelines help explain how that process works. ## Our Editorial Focus Infogaytion exists to help people discover LGBTQ+ experiences, places, businesses and communities. We prioritise events that primarily focus on one or more of the following: - LGBTQ+ community connection - Arts and culture - Entertainment and nightlife - Education - Health and wellbeing - Spirituality and personal growth - Community organisations and support - Sports and recreation - Travel and tourism - Professional networking - Fundraising and charitable initiatives The primary purpose of the event should clearly contribute to the LGBTQ+ community. ## LGBTQ+ Focus One of the questions we ask during moderation is: **Is this primarily an LGBTQ+ event, or is it another type of event that simply welcomes LGBTQ+ people?** These are not always the same. Events whose primary identity is LGBTQ+ are generally more suitable for publication than events centred on another community, interest or activity. Being LGBTQ+ friendly does not automatically mean an event falls within Infogaytion's editorial scope. ## Editorial Review When reviewing submissions we consider: - Who the event is primarily intended for - The overall purpose of the event - The public event description - Promotional material and imagery - Community relevance - Safety and legal considerations - Platform suitability - Whether the event aligns with Infogaytion's mission and audience Publication decisions are made using the event as a whole rather than a single image, word or activity. ## Specialist Communities Infogaytion recognises that the LGBTQ+ community is diverse and includes many overlapping interests and communities. However, not every community event necessarily falls within the editorial scope of the platform. For example, some events may primarily focus on specialist hobbies, lifestyle communities, private activities or niche interests rather than the LGBTQ+ community itself. Each submission is considered individually. ## Adult Themes Some approved events may include adult themes, body positivity, fetish expression, artistic nudity, sacred sexuality or other mature subject matter. These themes alone do not determine whether an event will be approved. Instead, we consider the primary purpose of the event and its relevance to the LGBTQ+ community. Events whose primary purpose is facilitating specialist sexual practices, explicit adult activities or private play may fall outside the current editorial scope of the platform. ## Images & Promotional Material Images should: - accurately represent the event - be high quality - ideally be 1080 × 1350 pixels - avoid excessive text where possible - comply with applicable laws - respect copyright and intellectual property Images may be rejected if they are poor quality, misleading or unsuitable for publication. ## Event Information Please ensure your submission includes: - accurate event title - venue - dates and times - pricing - age restrictions where applicable - booking information - a clear event description Providing complete information helps attendees understand what to expect. ## Changes After Submission Once an event has been submitted for review, editing is temporarily disabled while moderation is in progress. If changes are required, you may be contacted by the Infogaytion team. Once an event has been approved, future updates can usually be made through your dashboard and will be reviewed where appropriate. ## Approval & Rejection Submission does not guarantee publication. Infogaytion may: - approve an event - request changes - request additional information - decline publication Reasons may include, but are not limited to: - insufficient information - inaccurate or misleading content - unsuitable imagery - duplicate submissions - event no longer taking place - content outside the platform's editorial scope - safety or legal concerns ## Editorial Independence Infogaytion is an independently curated platform. Publication, categorisation, featured placement, visibility and removal of listings remain at the sole editorial discretion of Infogaytion. These decisions are made to maintain the quality, consistency and purpose of the platform and should not be interpreted as a judgement of an organiser, venue, business or community. ## Questions?
