I am Amy Nelson, a shamanic therapist and relationship coach based in Cape Town, working in person, online, and through home visits. Before this, I spent years in corporate life in Stockholm, a world that taught me a lot about performance and little about aliveness. Leaving it began a longer unravelling into pleasure activism, shamanic training, and psychology. My practice sits at the intersection of sexuality, spirituality, trauma healing, and relational diversity. I do not separate these into different rooms. Your nervous system, your desire, your grief, and your sense of the sacred are all talking to each other, and I work with all of it at once. I hold space for people across the full spectrum of gender and sexual orientation, and for every kind of relationship structure: monogamous, polyamorous, relationship anarchist, single, uncoupling, co-parenting. I bring a decolonial feminist lens to this work, questioning the patriarchal and colonial scripts most of us inherited around sex, gender, and love, and building something more honest in their place. Much of my work centres on the nervous system. Using polyvagal theory and somatic practice alongside shamanic tools, I help clients understand anxiety, shutdown, or shame as an intelligent system doing its best to keep them safe, rather than as brokenness. From that understanding, real change becomes possible. I offer shamanic therapy, relationship and nonmonogamy coaching, conscious uncoupling support, psychedelic integration, and SomatoSensual therapy for sexual embodiment and unshaming, along with shamanic birthing support, and bone readings (a matriarchal practice passed through my family line).
